The owls are not what they seem: A cocktail tribute to Twin Peaks

It is happening again.

I am so excited about the Twin Peaks revival airing on Showtime tomorrow! In honor of the event I present this tasty cocktail. Smoky, sweet, spicy, silly, spooky and slyly sophisticated, just like Twin Peaks.

“The owls are not what they seem” – that cryptic phrase that reappeared throughout the series pretty much sums it up while simultaneously revealing nothing.

The Owls Are Not What They Seem

1.25 oz Mezcal 1.25 oz Domaine de Canton Ginger Liqueur .25 oz cinnamon simple syrup .5 oz lime juice .5 oz apple cider 2 dashes Bittermens Hellfire Habanero Shrub

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled a third full of ice. Shake like a demon from the Black Lodge. Strain into a cocktail coupe garnished with a crafty owl.
